Two payments for the Kröller-Müller: your Museumkaart saves 13,90 euro here, not 27,75

Adult admission to De Hoge Veluwe in 2026 is 13,85 euro, children aged 6 to 13 pay 6,95 euro and under-sixes go free. Bringing a car into the park costs a further 9,80 euro, and that amount is folded into no admission at all. The part that stops people at the gate is structural: the park and the Kröller-Müller Museum are two separate organisations and each sells its own admission. The museum's own site states it plainly — to see the collection you need valid park admission in addition to museum admission. That subtraction is what decides the value of a Museumkaart at this address. Cardholders enter the museum free but pay the gate in full: the official tariff line reading 'Museumkaart & VriendenLoterij VIP-kaart' is 13,85 euro, exactly what someone without a card pays. So the card saves 13,90 euro here rather than 27,75 — less than half of the combined price. The two cards that genuinely open the gate are ICOM and Vereniging Rembrandt, and even there the park notes that free entry applies only while the museum is open. A student card buys nothing at this gate either: the tariff line for 'Student (VO, MBO, HBO, WO)' is also 13,85 euro.

To decide on an annual card, put your own visit count into it. The adult Jaarkaart is 81,05 euro; divided by 13,85 that is 5,85, so the card starts paying from the sixth visit. The child card at 43,65 euro divided by 6,95 is 6,28, so the seventh. Drivers need a different pair of numbers: the card including a vehicle is 143,35 euro, and 13,85 plus 9,80 makes 23,65, which divides into 6,06 — again the seventh visit. The same tariff page also offers a strippenkaart, ten adult visits for 124,65 euro, advertised as ten for the price of nine. Set it beside the annual card and the problem shows: you would only consider a ten-visit card if you intended to come six times or more, and across that whole range the 81,05 euro card is cheaper and unlimited.
