Repair Café Delft: diagnose together before buying a replacement
Two repair locations on 1 August
Deal Highlights
A fan that stopped may have a cable, switch or dust problem. Repair Café does not simply take an object away: volunteers open and test it with the owner, repairing knowledge as well as the item.
Details
On 1 August from 11:00 to 14:00, Repair Café Delft opens at Stanislas via the Pootstraat entrance and at Papsouwselaan 224. Walk-ins are possible, but registration is advised.
- The Delft group recorded its 10,000th repair and 100th volunteer in 2025. It is a community system accumulating parts knowledge and local experience, not an occasional market.
- Bring portable appliances, electronics, clothes or other manageable faults, but not every brand or problem can be solved on the day. Write down symptoms, timing and attempts first.
- Volunteers diagnose with owners where possible. Replacement parts, consumables or a voluntary contribution can cost extra; repair is not a guarantee of free restoration.
- Bring power cables, chargers, manuals, accessories and anything needed to reproduce the fault. Without one proprietary lead, testing may be impossible.
Hokimi field note: Record the fault on a phone and note when behaviour changes. If an intermittent problem refuses to appear at the table, that evidence is better than saying it sometimes fails.
