A small kitchen is changing its autumn menu and you are working out which equipment is still missing. This 57-page non-food book, valid from 23 September to 4 October 2026, is headed NON-FOOD and opens on getting a kitchen ready for the new season.

Before reading any price, read how a tag is built: the large figure in the red box excludes tax, and the amount you actually hand over sits beside it in small type. The nine-litre soup kettle GSK1009 on the cover shows a struck-through 49,99, a red 34,99 and then a grey line reading 42,34. That last figure is what leaves your account, because 34,99 times 1,21 is exactly 42,34. The whole book follows that shape: the four-litre GDF3004 fryer is 49,99 red and 60,49 including tax; the 118-litre glass-door cabinet GSC2125B falls from 199 to a red 129 and 156,09 including; the GSM1000 stick blender falls from 105 to 69,99 and 84,69 including. Multiply by 1,21 before setting any of these against a consumer retailer, or you are comparing two different kinds of price.

Three groups of equipment show most clearly what the tax line does to the gap:

• Small equipment that runs every service. The GSM1000 stick blender handles a mix volume of one to eight litres, turns at 2.000 to 13.000 rpm and has a detachable shaft, at 69,99 red and 84,69 including tax; the four-litre GDF3004 fryer is 49,99 and 60,49. These are the first things to give out when a menu changes, and a detachable shaft means the whole unit does not go into the sink at close.
• Mid-sized machines that take floor space but set the pace of service. The GPM1020P planetary mixer, 56 by 52 by 76 centimetres, drops from 649 to a red 499 and 603,79 including tax; the GN 1/1 bain-marie GMB1150, with a range of 0 to 90 degrees, is 64,99 and 78,64. A mixer of that size does a day of dough in one go, and a bain-marie keeps starters and sides holding through the rush instead of being remade.
• Storage that sits between the front and the back of house. The 118-litre glass-door cabinet GSC2125B is 129 red and 156,09 including tax, which suits drinks and same-day prep that customers can see; the stainless GVS1001 vacuum sealer, 35,9 by 42,5 by 36,6 centimetres, falls from 449 to a red 349 and 422,29 including. Sealing prepared stock extends how long it holds and visibly cuts what gets thrown away.

The sum is the red figure times 1,21, set beside whatever your current supplier charges. The mixer at a red 499 undercuts a consumer machine on the page, but 603,79 leaves the account. The cabinet at a red 129 costs 156,09. If you can reclaim input tax, the including line is only working capital and the red figure is your cost. If you are buying as a private customer, the including line is your cost, and those two positions lead to completely different answers. Run the multiplication yourself: add the red figures of the pieces you want, multiply by 1,21 and set the result beside your current supplier. Several items are marked ALLEEN ONLINE and cannot be taken from the aisle, and the mixer, the bain-marie and the vacuum sealer all carry that mark, so they have to be ordered online. No branch stock is given, and since the dimensions are printed under each model number, measure your doorway and your worktop before setting off.
