In front of the spirits shelf the thing that pulls the eye is the orange badge saying eleven euros off, not the volume on the bottle. These 25 pages run from 21 to 27 September 2026 and open on Wilde Whisky Dagen, with over three hundred whiskies marked down on the cover.

Take the three orange badges apart first: The three bottles on the cover knock off seven, five and eleven euros, which looks wildly different until you turn it into a percentage. Seven over 28,99 is 24,1 per cent, five over 20,99 is 23,8 and eleven over 44,99 is 24,4. So the eleven euros does not mean that bottle is the better buy, only that it started dearer. What genuinely differs is the volume: Glen Talloch is a full litre while the other two are 70 cl. Per litre, Glen Talloch now costs 15,99, Jack Daniel's works out at 31,41 and Glenfiddich 12 Years at 48,56.

Three more items in the book show the campaign is not only about whisky:

• Malibu Coconut Mixlikeur 1 L at € 14,99. A litre of mixing liqueur is the most durable bottle to have in the house for a party, because it goes with juice or a soft drink and needs nothing else alongside it. Per litre it is the cheapest of these three, which suits a crowd you do not want to mix cocktails for.
• Licor 43 Vanillelikeur 1.75 l at € 34,99. This is the largest bottle in the book and works out at 20,00 a litre, five euros above Malibu but below every whisky on the cover. A 1.75 litre bottle is the kind that sits open for a long time, so decide whether a year will finish it before picking it up.
• Mucho Más Blanco 0,0% at € 4,99. The alcohol-free shelf is usually skipped, but for someone driving, pregnant or not drinking it is the only thing on the same table everyone can raise a glass with. Under five euros also makes it the spare bottle to keep in, rather than something bought for one particular guest.

Two sums: the money off divided by the old price, and the new price divided by the litres. The first tells you whether the discount really is deeper than elsewhere; the second tells you whether the bottle itself is expensive. In this book the first answer is almost identical across the three cover whiskies while the second varies threefold. So the question is not how many euros came off but which spirit you actually want, and how many litres your household gets through in a year.

The cover prints the campaign as 21 September to 4 October while this book is listed online as running only to 27 September, so the two dates do not match; there is also an asterisk beside each old price and the small print is not on this page.
