Civil servants get 2.7% raise from July · Deal confirmed

A significant development for Dutch civil servants' salary agreements has been reached! Members of the three major unions (FNV, CNV, AC Rijksvakbonden) have voted to approve the new Collective Labour Agreement (Cao Rijksambtenaren), which will officially take effect from 2026.

💰 2.7% Salary Increase(retroactive from January 1, 2026)
📍 The Netherlands (applies to approx. 170,000 civil servants across all Rijksoverheid ministries, IND, COA, RIVM, diplomatic missions, etc.)

This means all Dutch civil servants will receive a 2.7% salary increase starting July 1, with retroactive pay from January 1, 2026, resulting in an additional payment on your July payslip.

• ✓ One-time Allowance: The agreement also includes a one-time payment, with the exact amount varying by job grade; some details are still pending.

The approval of this agreement is the result of negotiations between the unions and the government, and it is expected to be formally implemented in 2026.
