What you need to know
The commonest miscalculation on a first visit to Berlin's Museum Island is buying a single-museum ticket online and only then finding four more museums next door. The Altes Museum entry ticket on Tiqets is EUR 14.00, rated 4.8 from 78 reviews, delivered to your phone and not cancellable. The Altes Museum opened in 1830 as the Royal Museum beside the Lustgarten to plans by Schinkel, the building the Berlin museums grew out of; inside are the classical antiquities collection and the coin cabinet, entered through a rotunda.
The official price page puts the answer in a single table: the Altes Museum on its own is EUR 14 (EUR 7 reduced), the Museum Island day ticket EUR 24 (EUR 12 reduced) and the Museum Pass Berlin for three days EUR 32 (EUR 16 reduced). So 2 × 14 = 28, four euro more than 24: enter a second museum the same day and the island ticket is the one to buy. And 32 ÷ 14 = 2.29, so the three-day pass only starts to pay on a third museum. For the Altes Museum alone, this EUR 14 ticket matches the official single price.
The island ticket covers the Alte Nationalgalerie, Altes Museum, Bode-Museum, Friedrichswerdersche Kirche, Neues Museum and the Pergamonmuseum. Das Panorama. The main Pergamonmuseum is closed for major renovation until 4 July 2027, according to the museums, so what you see now is Das Panorama in the building nearby. One official rule changes the sum outright: under-18s go free, so a family only needs tickets for the adults.
