A Zandvoort beach day combines a turtle run, nest-building, sand art and a mini ocean lesson for ages four to eleven.

What you need to know

When a newly hatched sea turtle emerges from the sand, its first task is to reach the water. That short route can be disrupted by artificial light, rubbish, footprints and predators. WWF Oceanenfestival turns the real challenge into beach tasks children can understand. Participants aged four to eleven complete a turtle run, work together on a nest, build sand sculpture, join a short ocean lesson and answer a quiz. The games do not make conservation trivial; they give the body a memory of the lesson. A clean, quiet beach without obstacles can decide whether new life reaches the sea.

The programme takes place at Tijn Akersloot on Zandvoort beach, and the €14.50 fee includes a vegetarian lunch and drinks, making it possible to combine learning with a seaside day. WWF’s wider work on turtles, plastic pollution and healthy oceans is translated into actions a child can complete. “Zomerfestival” carried strong relative momentum in the NL Trends comparison, giving this preview a BOOST within its quota; all rising searches tied to other locations were excluded. The official booking route continues to Eventbrite.
