Twente LEGO train weekend: build a station, then ride to another brick world
25-26 Jul; two stations all day
Deal Highlights
Haaksbergen fills its heritage sheds with LEGO railways while Boekelo adds Technic, DUPLO and workshops; a real museum train connects the two worlds.
Details
On 25-26 July, Museum Buurtspoorweg turns its Haaksbergen and Boekelo stations into LEGO venues. Entry from age four is €6 without rail travel, or €14.50 for ages 4-11 and €18.50 from 12 with a return heritage-train ride.
- Haaksbergen centres on a giant LEGO railway, ball run, animal displays and brick versions of MBS rolling stock, linking the models to a working railway museum.
- Boekelo shifts to making through Technic demonstrations, Bouwlab workshops, DUPLO XL, a bracelet-making machine and minifigure face paint.
- Trains run hourly; Haaksbergen opens 09:30-17:00, Boekelo 10:00-16:30 and the last train leaves Boekelo at 16:05. The €6 ticket covers both sites but not transport between them.
Hokimi field note: Choose the rail ticket when the journey is part of the story; for brick-focused children the €6 option costs less, but your family must arrange the station transfer.
