Tours at Fort Kijkduin cost nothing extra: 11,50 euro entry, and the 45 euro annual card pays off on visit four

Start with the thing people discover at the gate: the Museumkaart does not work here. The official price page says it plainly, "de Museumjaarkaart is niet geldig op Fort Kijkduin". Drive the two hours north from Amsterdam with that card in your pocket and you still pay in full at the entrance. The battery was built in 1811 on the northernmost dunes of the Dutch mainland, facing the shipping channel out to the North Sea, and now works as a defence monument, a network of underground passages and a small aquarium all at once. It sits outside the museum association's free-entry system, which is why it keeps a price table of its own that owes nothing to the card in your wallet.Source 1

Programme density varies sharply across the nine days, and that is where the arithmetic lives. The official activity page lists restoration tours twice daily on 7, 8 and 11 September at 11:00 and 12:00, each about an hour; treasure-room tours on 7 and 8 September at 15:30, roughly 45 minutes; fish-feeding talks daily from 5 to 13 September at 12:30, 14:30 and 15:30 except Fridays; and fort tours on 5, 8, 10 and 12 September at 11:30. The sentence that matters reads "Aan alle activiteiten is gratis deel te nemen na aanschaf van een entreekaartje" — once you hold a ticket, every activity is included.Source 2

So the sum is your ticket price divided by the sessions you will realistically catch that day. On 7 and 8 September the restoration tour, the treasure-room tour and the fish feeding all run, and four or five sessions in one visit is easy, which brings the cost per session to a couple of euro. Turn up on a day carrying only the fish feeding and the same money buys a self-guided walk plus one talk. The second figure to substitute is the annual card: adult annual price divided by single entry comes to 3,9, so it turns profitable on the fourth visit, and the children's version lands on 4,2, meaning the fifth.
