The Rotterdampas card year ends on 28 February 2027: 65 euro now buys just over five months, while students and Rotterdam children pay 20

The Rotterdampas is the city of Rotterdam's own everyday card rather than a tourist ticket: you show it at restaurants, museums, sports clubs, course providers, cinemas and playgrounds, and the card's own description counts nearly 400 year-round offers plus 250 seasonal, 250 monthly and 52 last-minute ones a year, many of them free and the rest at least half price. What decides the sum is that it runs on a card year: this one runs from 1 March 2026 to 28 February 2027, so buying today and buying in March cost the same and last very differently. The standard price is 65 euro, students pay 20, Rotterdam children aged 0 to 17 pay 20; on the low-income rate an adult pays 5 and a child nothing, and on the middle-income rate 32.50 and 10. • What it actually is: not a voucher site but a physical card issued per person, with an app. The offers are grouped as year-round, seasonal, monthly and weekly last-minute, so what the same card gives you shifts through the year, and the app keeps favourites and a running total of what you have saved. • Prices and brackets: 65 euro standard, open to anyone; 20 euro each for Rotterdam children aged 0 to 17; 20 euro for full-time MBO, HBO or WO students up to the age of 33 living in Rotterdam; on the low-income rate, net household income up to 1,775 euro a month single, 2,000 single parent or 2,525 married or cohabiting, an adult pays 5 and a child nothing; on the middle-income rate, 1,775 to 2,050, 2,000 to 2,350 or 2,525 to 2,900, an adult pays 32.50 and a child 10. • Who it suits: the card works for households already living in Rotterdam who will actually use it, and makes no sense for an occasional visitor, because every reduced rate is tied to living in Rotterdam. International students in particular should look at that 20 euro line: the rates page states full-time student, maximum age 33 and Rotterdam residence, while the home page words it as living or studying in Rotterdam. • Before you order: residents of participating neighbouring municipalities such as Capelle aan den IJssel, Delft and Gouda have to buy through their own municipality, not on this page. The card can be ordered online or bought at a physical sales point, and the app runs on iOS and Android. Offers go live in batches, so read through the ones you would genuinely use before you decide. Work it out: divide 65 euro by the months you can still use. A full year is 65 divided by 12, about 5.42 euro a month. Buying today, 20 September, with the card year ending on 28 February 2027, leaves a little over five months, so 65 divided by 5.3 is about 12.26 euro a month, more than double the full-year rate. For an adult on the standard price the question is therefore whether the next five months will use up more than 65 euro of free and half-price entries. The other brackets change the sum entirely: 20 euro for a student, an over-65 or a Rotterdam child spreads to under 4 euro a month across what is left, and the 5 euro low-income rate is under 1 euro a month, which one outing repays. Hokimi field note: if your sum only just breaks even, wait until 1 March and buy into the new card year, when the same money buys twelve months instead of five; but the child, student and over-65 rates are low enough that waiting changes little, so those are worth having now.
