Rijksmuseum becomes a one-day making lab

“Finding inspiration” in a museum often ends with photographs and saved pages. Creative Garden asks visitors aged 18–30 to turn observation into movement of the hand. On 16 August, the Rijksmuseum garden and Art School host botanical drawing, cyanotype, embroidery, soap sculpture and architectural sketching, allowing a leaf vein, shadow or building line to become a personal object beside the collection. The day also includes focused tours, Hikayat iced tea, BagelBoy, a jazz trio and Silent Poetry. The aim is not to master a craft in five hours, but to discover which practice deserves another attempt. The €25 ticket includes museum admission, yet some workshops have fixed start times.
