Pro Breeze 2000 W ceramic fan heater at EUR 39.99: about EUR 0.23 an hour on its 900 W setting

Working late in the study, only the room you sit in is cold, and turning up the heating for the whole house for one room feels wasteful. The Pro Breeze PB-H12W is a white ceramic fan heater with 900, 1300 and 2000 W settings plus a fan-only setting; its dial thermostat reads the room temperature and switches off once the set temperature is reached, and it cuts out if it tips over or overheats. On Amazon.nl it costs EUR 39.99, rated 4.3 from 6,558 reviews (66% five-star, 7% one-star), sold by third-party seller One Retail Group and dispatched from Amazon, returnable within 30 days.

Pro Breeze was launched in 2013 and is headquartered in London, making air-treatment appliances such as dehumidifiers, humidifiers, heaters, fans and air purifiers; its website says it has sold more than 3 million products worldwide. This one is built small: 12.2 x 16.5 x 23 cm and 1.44 kg with a carry handle, a ceramic heating element and fan pushing out warm air, and the Amazon details give a room size of about 10 to 15 square metres. Note that the Amazon title promises automatic oscillation, but neither the feature list on the same page nor Pro Breeze's own description of the PB-H12W mentions it; the oscillating model on the brand site is a different one, the PB-H01, also EUR 49.99.

At the weekend it can sit next to the workbench while you fix a bike in the garage; but the 2000 W setting draws a lot, so it suits short spells in a small room, not replacing central heating. Cost per hour = setting in kW x your price per kWh. At the CBS August 2026 average of about EUR 0.2578 per kWh (variable contract price plus energy tax, VAT included): 900 W costs about EUR 0.23 an hour, 1300 W about EUR 0.34 and 2000 W about EUR 0.52; two hours a night on 900 W for 30 days is 54 kWh, about EUR 13.92. The Pro Breeze EU shop sells the same model for EUR 49.99, and the EUR 10 you save on Amazon pays for roughly 43 hours on the 900 W setting.

• Where to plug it in: the Dutch fire service (Brandweer) advises plugging heavy users such as electric heaters straight into a wall socket rather than a cable reel or power strip, and fully unrolling a cable reel if you must use one. (source 4)
• Check the offer before paying: the EUR 39.99 price is for a new unit, and the same page lists used units from other sellers from EUR 29.99, so make sure Buy New is selected before adding it to your basket. (source 1)
• Keep it out of the bathroom: neither the Amazon listing nor the Pro Breeze description gives a water-protection rating or says it can be used in a bathroom, so do not take it into the shower room. (source 2)
