Katwijk saves its final days for access, children and local voices

Beach events can quietly exclude anyone who struggles on sand, but Noordzee Zomerfestival places that tension directly in its final programme. On 14 August, Strandrups rides offer a beach experience for people with limited mobility; inflatable play and treasure digging follow in age groups of 0–4 and 5–10. Only at 20:00 does Vrienden van Katwijk Live hand the tent to local performers, with another Strandrups opportunity on 15 August. General admission is free and the site is on Strandplein opposite the Voorstraat beach exit, yet some accessible activities require a free ticket. “Free” therefore does not mean plan-free: sand, wind, transport and reservations still shape the day.
