World rowing returns to the Bosbaan

Rowing can look like boats simply travelling from one end of a lake to another. At the venue, the class, lane and timetable reveal very different starts, rhythms and sprints in singles, pairs, fours and eights. Para and mixed races are part of the championship programme rather than side entertainment. Built in 1937 and host in 1977 and 2014, the Bosbaan brings Dutch rowing history and current elite competition onto the same artificial course. The venue officially opens on 20 August, with the draw on 23 August and racing from the next morning. Spectators should choose a day by boat class and weather, then check entrance, grandstand and bicycle access instead of searching only for “the final”.
