Kasteel Hernen runs Kids-Zomerweken Ridders from 25 July to 16 August. Adults pay €13.50, ages 4-18 €6.75 and selected extras €3; choose a weekday programme before booking online.
- A talking lantern replaces a conventional audio guide and leads children room by room, while the attic story turns the castle’s vanished tower into an architectural mystery.
- The indoor-and-outdoor knight trail runs daily; Wednesdays add Professor Bombastix, Thursdays a ranger walk, Fridays theatre and Saturdays a visit to Hernen mill.
- Under-threes, Museumkaart and VriendenLoterij VIP holders enter free, with some activities extra. Parking is free, but buses from Wijchen mainly serve weekdays, so check weekend transport.
