• Smint: € 2,49. Page 6 offers either a duo pack of two 50-mint boxes or a tub of 150, normally 2.87 to 5.79. Sugar-free mints in a bowl on the table or in a coat pocket are the easy fix after beer and snacks, far handier than a toothbrush.
• Activia 2 x 4: € 2,46, 1+1 GRATIS. Page 7 describes two packs of four pots, normally 4.92 to 5.98 and now 2.46 to 2.99, in flavours such as prune and muesli. The morning after a get-together nobody wants to cook, and a pot of yoghurt with some fruit is a light breakfast in a minute.

Beer packs vary so much in bottle count and size that only the price per litre makes them comparable. Filled in: the smallest pack is 4 times 0.3 litres, 1.2 litres, so 4.49 divided by 1.2 is 3.74 a litre; the largest is 6 times 0.5 litres, 3 litres, so 4.49 divided by 3 is 1.50 a litre. At the same till price the six large cans cost less than half as much per litre. The mints work the same way: for 2.49 the 150 tub holds half again as many as the two boxes of 50. The yoghurt at its lowest price is 2.46 divided by 8, about 0.31 a pot.
