Changes from 1 July · Rent, wages and consumer rules

Several policy changes take effect in the Netherlands from 1 July, including adjustments to minimum wages, benefits, social rent caps, and telemarketing rules. It is worth checking how these updates might impact your household budget.

• ✓ Wages & benefits: Minimum wages and various benefits are increasing; check your latest payslip or benefit statement.
• ✓ Rent caps: Social rent increases are capped at 4.1% for rents of 350 euros or more, or 25 euros for lower rents; verify your rent notice.
• ✓ Consumer rules: Telemarketing is moving to an opt-in system, and standard letter delivery will shift to 48 hours.
