Breda Barst is free across both days: Saturday opens at 13:00 and the park holds a children-only MiniBarst

Set the clock first: Friday runs 14:00 to 23:00 and Saturday 13:00 to 23:00, an hour longer. The four stages have distinct characters. Amstel Stage is the main one, carrying MEROL, Marathon and De Nachtwacht on Friday and Jungle by Night, Ão and ISE on Saturday. Spaanse Kraag leans heavy, with Throwing Bricks and Terzij de Horde on Saturday. Future Stage is where newer names play, Crybabies on Friday and XXJULÍA and LÖNA on Saturday. Meer Barst handles film and smaller sets. The park sits between the railway station and the city centre, a few minutes on foot.Source 1

If you are bringing children, the day is effectively chosen for you. MiniBarst is a fenced area inside the site described officially as "een festival binnen ons Breda Barst terrein, alleen voor kinderen", with theatre, dance workshops, music and lemonade, plus Kober crafts, a sustainability professor and the rescue brigade's boat. It runs on Saturday, and paired with that earlier 13:00 start it is clearly the friendlier of the two days. Friday opens later and tilts towards rock and metal as the evening goes on.Source 2

Entry is free; the day is not. Lay the sum out like this: the number of drinks you expect, multiplied by the tokens each one costs, plus a return train fare from your own town to Breda. The decisive line sits in the FAQ, "Consumptiemunten zijn niet terug inwisselbaar voor geld" — leftover tokens are not converted back. So buy them in small rounds and accept walking back to the counter rather than loading up at dusk; the top-up bought just before the closing set is the one most likely to end the night as a souvenir.
