What you need to know
Albert Heijn published a second book inside the same window, an AH Voordeelshop.nl sheet of just seven pages. It has nothing to do with the supermarket shelf: it is entirely Emma mattresses, toppers, pillows and bed frames, marked gratis bezorgd, delivered free.
The four offers read: Emma Hoofdkussen Comfort at an adviesprijs of 69,00 euro and a DEAL of 39,00, marked 30 euro lower; Emma Original Lite-matras 80 by 200 at an adviesprijs of 359,00 and a DEAL of 179,00, marked 180 lower; Emma Original topper 80 by 200 at an adviesprijs of 199,00 and a DEAL of 99,00, marked 100 lower; and an Emma Original metal bed with an Original Lite-matras at 140 by 200 as a set, adviesprijs 1328,00 and a DEAL of 599,00, marked 729 lower.
A line at the foot of the page states exactly what those numbers are: De adviesprijs is de door de leverancier aanbevolen verkoopprijs, the adviesprijs is the price the supplier recommends, not a price anyone actually charged. So each of those four lower figures is a gap against a recommendation rather than against the market. To judge whether the offers are good, subtract the DEAL price from Emma's own webshop price on the day, not from the adviesprijs. A note down the side adds that the mattress, topper, pillows and bed are sold by Emma Matratzen GmbH, and that the topper, mattress and bed come in several sizes, so these four numbers apply only to the sizes printed.
