Zuiderzeemuseum nature printing: turn leaf veins and pressure into a textile photograph

25 Jul; adult workshop €10

📅 Valid until 2026-07-25🕒 Published 2026-07-18🏷️ Category Local Attrac.

Deal Highlights

Textile artist Liesbeth Beneker goes beyond green paint: leaf placement and hand pressure determine whether veins, thickness and texture remain like a photograph.

Details

Zuiderzeemuseum runs Natuurprinten at Het Schathuys in Enkhuizen on 25 July, 10:00-12:30 and 13:00-15:30. The 18+ workshop costs €10 excluding museum admission; select 25 July and add Makerij in the official shop.

  • Liesbeth Beneker works as textile artist, printer, maker and designer, treating each leaf as a printing plate with veins, thickness and edge rather than generic decoration.
  • Participants compose leaves, grasses and twigs on cotton, then vary hand pressure; that difference controls which textures appear and can make a print resemble a close photograph.
  • Makerij focuses on a different technique on the last Saturday of each month. Advance booking is required, museum entry is separate and clothes that can take paint are sensible.

Hokimi field note: Choose three plants with contrasting outlines and test light and heavy pressure first; comparing those marks produces a stronger final composition than filling the cloth immediately.
