It works like a village relay: children take Friday’s carousel and ponies, runners own Thursday, and families take over the field on Saturday. Waverfeest combines a fair, free children’s festival, road running, a ditch race and vintage vehicles on one rural site. Waverfeest gets its character from local volunteers turning everyday polder life into the programme. A fairground and a brown-café-style tent form the backdrop, but the unmistakable centrepiece is the Slob en Slootrace through fields, mud and ditches. Friday adds a free children's event with a carousel and horses; Saturday broadens into a family day with bicycles, old tractors, tyre throwing, belly sliding and traditional water games. This is not a standard festival package brought in from elsewhere. It folds the village landscape, farming memory and several generations of play into one four-day gathering.

- Friday’s children’s festival starts at 12:00 with free activities and selected fair rides.
- Thursday running costs €5 adults and €2.50 through age twelve, with 2.6, 6.2 and 12.4 km options.
- Saturday family day opens at 09:30; vintage vehicles and flea market begin at 10:00.
