Venlo’s Zomerparkfeest is free, but it is far more than one music stage

Four free culture days in Venlo

📅 Valid until 2026-08-16🕒 Published 2026-07-21🏷️ Category Local Events

Deal Highlights

Julianapark holds bands, dance, theatre, poetry, film, science and visual art at once. The protagonist is not one singer but a city placing culture in a park everyone can enter.

Details

From 13 to 16 August, Zomerparkfeest is free in Venlo’s Julianapark. Gates open 18:00 Thursday and 13:00 Friday through Sunday, so a visit can be built around a programme strand.

  • Since 1977 it has grown into a multidisciplinary festival with about 100,000 visits and roughly 1,200 volunteers. The free scale comes from long local organisation, not a reduced programme.
  • Music shares space with dance, theatre, literature, film, fashion, art and science. In 2026 house poet Emirhan X turns Venlo experience into rap, poetry and live performance.
  • Thursday-Saturday run until 01:00 and Sunday until midnight; free Grenswerk clubnights follow Friday and Saturday. Families should favour the daytime kids area and earlier acts.
  • Entry is free, but lockers cost EUR5 per day, bicycle parking EUR2.25 and a daily toilet wristband EUR2.80; food is extra. Venlo station is about a ten-minute walk.

Hokimi field note: Choose one non-music item such as poetry, science or theatre, then pair it with a band. That reveals why this is not merely a free concert.
