HISWA te Water puts the show inside Bataviahaven: yachts and sailing boats float in real water, letting visitors judge decks, cabins and boarding rather than viewing hulls behind barriers.

What you need to know

From 2 to 6 September, HISWA te Water opens daily 10:00-18:00 in Lelystad. It calls itself Northern Europe’s largest in-water boat show, for boat viewing, water activities or purchase research.

  • “In-water” means seeing real boarding height, waterline and space relationships. Even non-buyers can understand how designers solve sleeping, steering and storage inside a limited hull.
  • Alongside boats and exhibitors are water activities, HISWA Village, a waterfront stage, talks, awards and food, so not every companion needs to care about engine specifications.
  • All five days run 10:00-18:00 at Bataviahaven 1. Dogs are welcome on a lead, but individual exhibitors still decide access aboard their boats.
  • Use the official shop for the live ticket total. Buyers should list length, berths and budget; experience visitors should check whether water activities require booking or have age rules.

Hokimi field note: Wear shoes with grip that are easy to remove or move in on board. Check wind and rain first; a harbour often feels cooler than the city centre.
