Hear four centuries in 45 minutes

Many visitors treat Hooglandse Kerk as part of Leiden’s skyline. A Saturday organ concert turns the building from something to photograph into something to hear: notes travel along stone columns and return from the high vaults, leaving a tail longer than the keystroke itself. Pieter van Dijk plays the De Swart-Van Hagerbeer organ from 13:30–14:15 on 1 August. Entry is free, with a voluntary collection. The compact 45-minute format fits easily between lunch, a market or another museum visit. Seats offer different balances of sight and sound, so arrive early enough to choose rather than taking the last available place.
