Giving Voice in Utrecht: hear instruments learn to speak like people

From 28 August to 6 September, Festival Oude Muziek brings Giving Voice to Utrecht. Public sales are open, offering first-time early-music listeners a clear narrative entrance.

• Marais named an instrumental piece “human voices”, letting the festival place song and instruments inside one question: who is speaking, whom does a voice represent and why can old music still move us?
• The Paris 1200 prelude opens at 17:00 in the Domkerk on 28 August, followed by strands including Notre-Dame de Paris, Singing Byrd, Playing Byrd, Le Salon and Late Collection.
