What you need to know

The same Rotterdam park can feel Andalusian in the morning and become a children’s sound laboratory in the afternoon. On 9 August, Flamenco al Aire begins at Parkpaviljoen at 11:30. From 14:00–16:00, families can make wind chimes with Klieder en Klodder and watch Theater Lejo create characters using hands and wooden eyes. The programme is free, but reservations are required. Rain moves activities indoors, where capacity becomes even tighter. Choose the element your family genuinely wants instead of treating “free” as walk-in access, then use the gap between sessions for a picnic or a slow walk through Het Park.

  • The Flamenco concert begins at 11:30.
  • The children’s afternoon programme runs 14:00–16:00.
  • Both programme blocks are free, but the organiser requires reservations.
  • Rain moves the programme indoors, reducing capacity.

Hokimi field note: If you only secure the afternoon, collect one good-sounding reused object at home and arrive with a material question.
