Den Haag royal opening: enter the King’s working palace and meet a 200-year coach

22 Jul-9 Aug; under-18s free

📅 Valid until 2026-08-09🕒 Published 2026-07-19🏷️ Category Local Attrac.

Deal Highlights

A working palace used most of the year opens for three weeks, joining the ballroom and royal military story to stables where the Glass Coach turns 200.

Details

Paleis Noordeinde and the Royal Stables open Wednesday-Sunday from 22 July to 9 August. The palace is €10, stables €7.50 and under-18s enter free, but everyone needs a timed ticket and ID.

  • Noordeinde is not a reconstructed attraction but the King and Queen’s working palace. This year’s “Oranjes and the Armed Forces” presentation links the ballroom to state service from William of Orange to today.
  • The stables feature the 200-year-old Glass Coach, while a children’s trail explains historic and current royal transport. That turns an ornate carriage into a story about ceremony, staff and craft.
  • The two sites keep different hours, bookings are limited to six tickets and ID must match the dated slot. Combination and popular times can sell out, so use live ticket availability.

Hokimi field note: When only one slot remains for a family, choose the stables: the 200-year coach and children’s trail form a stronger story than rushing through two sites.
