Practise Dutch in a kayak, not at a fixed table

A conventional language exchange often returns to English once introductions become difficult. Kayaking changes the structure: people ask for direction, match pace, warn about a bridge or request help, so vocabulary is attached to an immediate scene and silence feels less awkward. Water also creates real limits. Swimming confidence, lifejackets, weather, boat pairing and waterproof storage need confirmation rather than being treated as background details. The four-hour window will include meeting and route explanation, not four continuous hours of paddling.
