Details

Boeskool is the Twente word associated with carrot and has become Oldenzaal’s unmistakable summer name. Built by the city together, the festival makes local speech, clubs and streets part of the programme rather than a neutral backdrop. From 4 to 9 August, Boeskool is Lös fills the centre with music, around 250 stalls, a children’s market, sport and street performance.

  • All six days are free to enter, with separate schedules for stages and areas.
  • On 8 August, family choices include a children’s market, play square, beach sports and the rubber-duck race.
  • The programme covers the centre, so save the official map rather than relying on one address.
  • Food and some activities cost extra, and evening crowds can be substantial.

Treat this as a small summer story with a clear setting, not simply another pin on a map. Times, ticket types and practical arrangements can still change. Reopen the official page before booking or leaving, and allow some margin for transport, weather and food so the day stays enjoyable.

Hokimi field note: Families should prioritise daytime play and the children’s market, then return briefly for music instead of covering everything at once.
