Local Kids
Haagse Sportzomer: try BMX and TeamNL training in your neighbourhood for free
21 Jul Bokkefort; free entry
Deal Highlights
The city moves sport into local squares: no membership or equipment purchase before children move from ball games and obstacles to BMX and elite coaching.
Details
Haagse Sportzomer comes to Bokkefort in Den Haag on 21 July from 12:30 to 16:30 for ages 4-12, free and without registration. Nearby families can walk in; the series moves to Melis Stokepark on 28 July.
- The design lowers the cost of a first try: football, basketball, running, throwing and obstacle routes sit in neighbourhood space before a family chooses a long-term club.
- BMX and cycle activities add speed and control, while TeamNL clinics break high-level sport into basic movements children can attempt instead of only watching competition.
- An adult must supervise. Wear closed sports shoes and bring water and sun protection; check whether BMX helmets and protection are supplied before leaving.
Hokimi field note: Try one familiar sport and one entirely new activity; comparing “what I can do” with “what I want to learn” matters more than checking every station.
