From 21 to 23 August, NS runs roughly one train every five minutes between Amsterdam Centraal and Zandvoort aan Zee, plus five extra early intercity trains for Saturday’s sprint.
What you need to know
“A train every five minutes” sounds like a weekend that needs no planning, yet the pressure of a major event often sits at transfers and after the finish. During the Dutch Grand Prix, NS increases Amsterdam Centraal–Zandvoort aan Zee to roughly five-minute intervals, with capacity of up to about ten thousand passengers per hour in one direction. For Saturday’s sprint, five additional early intercity trains help travellers from directions including Groningen, Arnhem, Nijmegen, Eindhoven, Tilburg, Breda, Den Bosch and Utrecht reach Amsterdam. NS advises the relevant early travellers to arrive at Amsterdam Centraal before 09:30; a Price Time Deal for early arrival requires reaching Zandvoort before 09:00. The station is within walking distance of the circuit, but bicycles are not allowed on the Amsterdam–Zandvoort section and Reisassistentie is unavailable at intermediate stations. Hokimi’s judgement is that owning an admission proof is not the same as having a route.
- The event and enhanced service run from 21 to 23 August 2026.
