Driving into Schiphol without a booking: past 48 hours P1 adds 100 euro a day and P3 adds 15

Whether you are dropping someone off at Schiphol or flying yourself, most people pick a car park at the barrier — and Schiphol does not charge a flat daily rate. It charges in steps, and the official drive-in rates without a reservation say it plainly: P1 Halen en Brengen and P3 Lang Parkeren both cost 57.50 euro for the first 24 hours, so they look identical. They part ways on day three. Without a booking P1 is capped at 48 hours and every extra day after that costs 100 euro, while P3 charges 15 euro per extra 24 hours. P3 sits on Holiday Avenue with a free 24/7 shuttle that reaches departures in five minutes; P1 is beside the terminal, a two to six minute walk. So the question to answer first is not which is closer, but how many days you are leaving the car.

• The first 24 hours cost the same at both: 57.50 euro at P1 Halen en Brengen (P1 Parkeren is priced the same) and at P3 Lang Parkeren. P1 also has a 2.60 euro per 20 minutes rate for an actual drop-off. (source 1)

Hokimi field note: turn convenience into money before you choose. P1 is a two to six minute walk and P3 is a five-minute shuttle, so the difference is minutes — but past two days P1 charges you 85 euro more every single day. Use the P1 20-minute rate for a genuine drop-off, drive straight to P3 if you are flying, and book online first: Schiphol's own page says reserving is usually cheaper and it takes the gamble out of finding a space.
