Dierens Kade Festival: two nights of singing beside the IJssel

A very large festival can create a crowd of strangers; Dierens Kade Festival feels more like an invitation sent to the whole region to meet beside the IJssel. From 18:00 on 14 and 15 August, neighbours, friends and families gather along the IJsselkade while live acts and DJs take turns over two evenings. Friday brings Billy Dans, Trobi, Outsiders and DJ Cier. Saturday changes to Sven Versteeg, The Euros, Ronnie Ruysdael and DJ Roel. The names move through Dutch pop, party music and DJ sets, but the defining scene is the river after dark and familiar faces repeatedly finding one another in the audience.

Stichting Evenementen Dieren organises the festival and presents it as a celebration for and by the region. Volunteers help build and host it, which explains why a growing programme can retain the atmosphere of a neighbourhood gathering. “Zomerfestival” showed comparatively strong recent interest in the NL Trends check, so this event received a boost within its quota because it is genuinely a summer music festival. No rising query tied to another city or performer was borrowed. Regular entry starts at €12.50 per evening, while a two-night ticket is €20 before service charges.
