Culemborg gives a neighbourhood idea two days to become a plan

“We should do something together” often remains one hopeful line in a neighbourhood chat. Culemborg’s resident-initiative budget asks people to move one step further: identify participants, explain how the street becomes safer or more connected, calculate support and assign delivery. Examples include a street gathering, Burendag activity, workshop or small public-space improvement. The next advisory-group meeting is on 1 September and the municipality sets 25 August as the application deadline. Submission is not automatic approval; the municipality decides after advice. Hokimi recommends spending these two days on evidence rather than a polished poster. Ask two neighbours whether the need is real, list costs and responsibility, then check every condition. If Dutch or the form is a barrier, contact a neighbourhood manager or ElkWelzijn before the deadline so a promising idea is not rejected as incomplete.
