The laundry liquid is nearly gone, two toilet rolls are left and you are driving to the big store anyway. AH XL week 39 runs to 42 pages and is valid from Monday 21 to Sunday 27 September 2026. The front is food: Unox soup pouches and Almhof quark at two plus three free, Milner cheese slices 150 gram and Pepsi 1,5 litre at one plus one. Turn further and a long run of household lines follows, which is the part of a big-store trip worth doing the maths on.

The catch is that this issue runs two plus three, two plus four and one plus two side by side, and each one asks you to take a different number of items and pay a different share. The word free on the corner flash tells you nothing on its own.

Sort the household lines by how many you must take and what share you pay:

• Two plus three free (take five, pay two, 60 per cent off the total): all Robijn detergent (offer prices 8,38 to 60,98 euro), all Lenor fabric softener (13,30 to 27,98), Ariel pods and liquid (33,18 to 55,98), Gliss and Syoss shampoo and conditioner, Aquafresh and Prodent toothpaste, and Edet ultra soft four-ply toilet paper, six rolls at an offer price of 13,50.
• Two plus four free (take six, pay two): all Glorix toilet blocks at 7,30 to 14,58 euro. It is the lowest share of the three, but it means six packs at once, so a household with one toilet should think about how long that lasts.
• One plus two free (take three, pay one): all Sun and Finish dishwasher tablets (4,29 to 29,95 euro) and Walra kitchen textile sets, with a recommended retail price of 35,97 against 11,99 here, while stocks last.

The sum is items paid divided by items taken, times the single price. Two plus three is 2 divided by 5, so you pay 40 per cent per item; two plus four is 2 divided by 6 and one plus two is 1 divided by 3, a third each. Then put in how many bottles of detergent or packs of tablets your household uses in a month to see whether the trip saves months of spending or just fills the cupboard.

The flyer names no stock per branch, and the Edet toilet paper line says in store only. Offer prices are printed as ranges because each size costs something different. The fruit page adds AH Elstar apples 1,5 kilo at 1,99 and AH mandarins 1,5 kilo at 3,49 if you are there anyway.
