Royal Stables Den Haag until 9 Aug: €7.50 tickets remain

Walk through the Hogewal gate in central Den Haag and this is not an ordinary garage: it is the working home of more than two centuries of Dutch royal transport. The 2026 summer opening continues through 9 August. As of 5 August, tickets for Paleis Noordeinde and the combination visit are sold out; only Royal Stables tickets remain, costing €7.50 for adults, while visitors under 18 enter free but must reserve a €0 ticket. This visit suits families and anyone interested in horses, ceremonial craft or royal history. Choose a fixed date and time on the official ticket page, then enter at Hogewal 17 rather than joining the sold-out palace route. King Willem I founded the Royal Stables Department in 1815, so the collection is not simply decorative: it belongs to a transport service that still supports state ceremonies.

• The signature object is the Glass Coach, commissioned in 1821 and delivered by Brussels coachbuilder Pierre Simons in 1826. It is the oldest coach of the Dutch Royal House, with a dark-blue body, gilded laurel and oak-leaf borders, and glass protecting its delicate ornamental strip.
• Official information says visitors can see royal horses, coaches including the Glass Coach and Golden Coach, and historical and modern cars. Panels and public films explain their traditional and current use. Adult admission is €7.50; under-18s still need a free ticket, with a maximum of six tickets per booking.
• The opening ends on 9 August and admission follows the time printed on the ticket. Visitors aged 14 or older must bring an original passport, driving licence or identity card; a copy or phone photo is not accepted. Follow the security check and arrive as instructed for your slot.
• Bags or objects larger than 30 × 30 × 15 centimetres, liquids, food and umbrellas cannot enter. Pushchairs are allowed, but back carriers are not. Photography without flash is permitted; filming, tripods and selfie sticks are prohibited.
