Groningen becomes an MTB course: District Ride lands in the Netherlands for free
Free; first official women’s field
Deal Highlights
Riders do not follow one fixed dirt line: they interpret stairs, wallrides, drops and huge jumps, with difficulty, style and creativity all shaping the score.
Details
Red Bull District Ride takes over Groningen’s Grote Markt on 24-25 July, free and without registration. Watch practice on Friday, the main contest Saturday afternoon or the Red Bull TV stream.
- This is the event’s first Dutch edition and an FMB World Tour Diamond stop. Slopestyle, freeride and street specialists solve the same city course through different riding backgrounds.
- The 2026 course was co-designed with riders and has no single correct line. The interest lies in how each athlete joins stairs, wallrides, drops and big-air features into a personal flow.
- For the first time the event includes an official women’s competition. Saturday doors open at 14:00 and the contest at 16:00; travel by train, leave dogs at home and arrange accessibility help in advance.
Hokimi field note: Watch riders test lines in practice, then compare how those choices change in the final; that reveals more about slopestyle than waiting only for the biggest jump.
