Druppies Adventure kids' rain boots at EUR 39.95: the official chart goes by foot length, and 19.5 cm is a size 30

Druppies is a Dutch rain boot brand that started on 1 April 2017; after its first model, the Fashion Boot, took off in the Netherlands it grew to six models and more than 25 colours, and because of demand it opened its own factory in Italy in early 2021, where the boots are made by hand. The Adventure is 100% natural rubber with a cotton lining and an insole that lifts out in one piece. That insole is the key to the size: the brand's own FAQ says the boot is always a little roomier than the insole, so if the child's foot length matches the insole length, the boot will not pinch.

The sum needs only a tape measure: stand the child with the heel against a wall, measure to the longest toe, then find the first size in the official chart that is not smaller than that number. The official chart lists foot length: size 28 is 18.1 cm, 29 is 18.7 cm, 30 is 19.5 cm, 31 is 20.2 cm and 32 is 20.8 cm. A foot of 19.3 cm is a size 30; a child who normally wears 31, the brand itself says, should go one size down. The difference shows most on an autumn-break day at the beach or in the woods: a rubber boot that is too big slips on sand and mud, while one that fits keeps going. The cotton lining is not fleece, though, and for frosty days the brand names a different model, the Nature Boot, as the fleece-lined one.
