Amsterdam family workshop: build a colourful world with Marie Kuyken

Museum Het Schip runs a Marie Kuyken family workshop in Amsterdam on 18 July from 11:15 to 12:45. It is for children aged 5-12 working with adults and needs advance booking; the next step is to check places for the whole family.

• Kuyken was an Amsterdam School pattern designer and a pioneer of cloisonné whose contribution was largely erased from mainstream art history.
• Families do not simply copy a picture; markers and ecoline open underwater creatures, dreamlike flowers and expressive animals inspired by her visual worlds.
• The museum wants a genuine mix of adults and children; adult-only visitors should choose the separate adult workshop.
