About this restaurant

Noord-Oost Chinees Eethuis Amsterdam on Albert Cuypstraat specialises in traditional food from North-East China. Handmade dumplings, pork with pickled cabbage, di san xian, chicken stewed with mushrooms and cold wide noodles highlight generous ingredients and bold sweet, sour and mildly spicy flavours. Very decent Chinese food. We enjoyed boiled dumplings, crispy meat in sweet and sour sauce and cold starters, such as cucumber and mushrooms in old-aged vinegar. Dumplings were slightly over boiled, the rest was perfect. This restaurant is 5 times more expensive than in China, but it’s understandable, knowing that the place is in the center of Amsterdam. Interior isn’t special, but is clean and neat. There was some unpleasant smell in the beginning but then it was gone. Overall I can recommend the place.

I had my last dinner in Amsterdam here. I grew up in the Northeastern China (Liaoning Province). I ordered three dishes and they all tasted authentic and delicious. I saw many locals visiting the restaurant or ordering delivery. Definitely recommend this restaurant if you crave authentic Chinese food.

We had the greatest period and tried the fourth dish and also the chicken with the black bean sauce. The place is small and cozy nothing fancy however the staff is very welcoming and the Yasmeen tea is good and comes in a pot. My partner is a big fan of Chinese food and he really loved it! I would recommend to call in advance and reserve because it is always full

Small but authentic northeastern Chinese food place! The flavor, chaos and decoration remind me of home. Recommend: dumplings, intestine clay pot, bbq squid skewers, eggplant with potato and bell peppers, spicy beef stew, pig ears. It can get quite busy so best to make reservations.

The food was very nice considering that it is Amsterdam. I haven’t had north eastern Chinese food before, but the flavour profile seemed milder and things didn’t seem too oily. The sliced noodles had such a nice texture, and the dumplings were so nice with the crust. I see myself coming here more often.
